REZENOPY (10 mg naloxone) supports strategies to reduce Multiple Naloxone Administration (MNA) by delivering the highest-strength naloxone per nasal spray available. Are there any contraindications or important safety considerations prescribers should be aware of?2026-03-13T12:13:07-04:00

Yes. REZENOPY is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to naloxone hydrochloride or any of its ingredients.1 Key considerations include:

  • Opioid-dependent patients: Administration may precipitate opioid withdrawal, which can be life-threatening in neonates if not recognized and treated promptly.
  • Partial/mixed agonists: Reversal of respiratory depression caused by buprenorphine or pentazocine may be incomplete — larger or repeat doses may be required.
  • Post-surgical use: Abrupt reversal of opioid depression may result in adverse cardiovascular effects, particularly in patients with pre-existing cardiovascular disorders.
  • Continued surveillance: Due to naloxone’s duration of action relative to the opioid, patients should be monitored and additional doses administered as needed while awaiting emergency medical assistance.
